Four Hour Game Ends in Twins Victory

Texarkana, USA – May 30, 2019 – After a four hour contest, the Twins get the series sweep over the Baton Rouge Rougarou on teacher appreciation night. It was a hard fought nine to eight victory that saw runs scored in every inning but the fourth and seventh.

Twins got off to a hot start early going up 3-0. To get those runs they had no hits, runners were brought in by walks, hit by pitch, and a sac fly. The Rougarou and the Twins both scored in the second inning bring the score to 5-1. The third inning is where the Rougarou got the bats going scoring four runs to tie up the game. The Twins then scored to go up one run at the bottom of the third.

Scoring picked up again in the bottom of the fifth. With bases loaded Lee Thomas hit a ball to the top of the right-center field wall to clear the bases. Thomas was 2-4 with 4 RBI’s and a stolen base. That double helped jump out to the lead and they never lost it again.

Bobby Lada also was big in tonight's game. He was 2-3 with 1 RBI 2 stolen bases and 2 walks and he scored one run. Six total pitcher’s seeing action tonight the stand out was Joseph Standley. The Rougarou were battling back into the top of the eighth, and with two outs the Twins brought in Standley. Standley then proceeded to strike out Rougarou center-fielder Reid Baty, and then stuck out the side in the ninth to get the save.

The Twins take their first road trip of the year travel to Victoria, Texas to take the Generals on June second and third.
