Twins Defeat Bombers 4-2

The Texarkana Twins defeated the Brazos Valley Bombers to earn their first win in franchise history Sunday night. Starting pitcher Ben Donnell tossed a complete game victory against the bombers and held them to only two runs and struck out 5 batters.

After poor baserunning ended the bottom of the first, the Twins struck for two runs in the bottom of the second thanks in part to a one out double from Drake Osborn, a walk from Nick Anderson, and a 2 RBI single from Matt Hammock.

The Bombers would answer with an RBI single from Allonte Wingate in the third inning. However the Twins added two more runs in the bottom of the third with two hard hit doubles from Ridling and Gonzalez chasing Bombers starter Cole Pletka.

Donnell only walked one batter in his nine innings of work and gave up two runs, on seven hits to give the Twins their first win in franchise history. The Twins go for the sweep tomorrow night before going on their first road trip of the season.
