Series Preview: Brazos Valley Bombers

Texarkana, USA – May 25, 2018 – The Texarkana Twins will kick off the 2018 TCL season at home against the Brazos Valley Bombers. This will be a rematch of the first-round playoff matchup from last season, a match which was narrowly lost by the Twins. The series will be two games, played Friday and Saturday.

The Texarkana Twins will enter their second season as a part of the TCL, led by second year manager Jake Mitzner. After a first round exit in 2017, the club is looking to take the next level and has the roster to do so. The Twins roster features multi-tool star Gunner Halter, a pair of infielders from the BIG XII conference and four members of the University of Kentucky baseball team. Built heavily on the top JUCO players in the nation, the Twins will field a majority of their roster on opening day, giving them an advantage in the early portion of the TCL season, while other clubs wait for post season play to conclude in the NCAA.

This season the Bombers are led by first year manager Brian Nelson, who has both been a player and assistant coach on prior Bomber teams. The club is looking to get off to a strong start and will rely upon several local stars as the team awaits other players to complete their collegiate seasons. Players expected to be with the team on Opening Day include University of Texas utility player Bennett Inoff, Lamar first baseman Robin Adames, and Western Kentucky infielder Sam McElreath.

Both games will be streamed live on ClutchTV. The Twins will continue their homestand on Sunday against the Victoria Generals.
