Twins Add Two from State of Oklahoma

Sifrit & Markwardt

Texarkana, USA – November 20, 2018 –The Texarkana Twins and new head coach Bill Clay, are excited to announce the first two members of the 2019 Texarkana Twins. Noah Sifrit, from Oklahoma State University, and Hunter Markwardt, from Oklahoma Christian University will call Texarkana home this coming summer.

Noah Sifrit will be joining the Twins after completing his sophomore season with the Big 12 champion Oklahoma State Cowboys. During his freshman campaign, the left-handed pitcher saw significant innings out of the bullpen for the Cowboys and looks to have an expanded role this coming spring. Sifrit was a two time All-American during his time at Coronado High School as a true two-way threat and may see opportunities in the outfield for the Twins.

Hunter Markwardt, a junior from Oklahoma Christian University had a prolific prep career during his time at Argyle HS. The All-State Outfielder began his collegiate career at Abilene Christian University before transferring to Oklahoma Christian where he led the team with a .351 average while stealing 15 bases.

When asked about his new signees, Coach Clay had this to say, “We love athletes, and that’s exactly what these two guys are. Hunter is tough ballplayer that will show up with energy every day for us. Noah is very versatile and has a chance to make an impact for us both pitching and offensively.”
